Thank you for visiting us here at Kodiak Wilderness.com.
Inside these pages you'll find information on the Kodiak fishing
and hunting trips we offer, our Kodiak Lodge accommodations,
and a little bit about your hosts, Kevin & Katy Adkins.
We hope to answer a few of your questions here,
but we really like to talk to guests personally, so give us
a call. It's our dime!
Our Kodiak Alaska Location
Kodiak
Wilderness Adventures is located on the northwest tip of Kodiak
Island. We
reside year round in the community of Port Lions, Alaska,
which is about 17 air miles from the City of Kodiak. Kodiak
itself is about 250 miles from Anchorage. When traveling to
Kodiak, you must fly into Anchorage, and then continue on
down to Kodiak. Access to our community is by small plane,
boat, or the Statewide Alaska Marine Highway System ( State
Ferry) . We cannot drive to Kodiak or anywhere else on or
off the island from our location. Because of this, we think
of ourselves as being somewhat remote.
Kodiak Fishing Packages
We
offer the angler visiting Alaska a complete package deal.
From 5 day, 6 night packages to 4 day, 5 night packages, our
trips are all inclusive. What this means to you is that for
the package price listed, we provide all meals, fully guided
fishing including all tackle & gear, carefully handled
filleting & preparation of your catch, and transportation
from Kodiak and back. You purchase your license (available
here) and any alcoholic beverages you may wish to bring with
you (available in Kodiak). Look for specific information on
fishing under our "Fishing Adventures" page.
Kodiak Hunting Exotic Sea Duck & Sitka Blacktail Deer
In
addition to fishing packages, Kodiak Wilderness Adventures
offers either duck hunting by itself, or a combo hunt which
includes deer & duck hunting. These hunts are also all
inclusive, however they require a hardy individual due to
our extreme weather conditions.
For more information on these hunts, click here.
Kodiak Lodge Accommodations and Transportation
Our lodge is called the "Coho Nook Inn"
which means Silver Salmon corner. We named it this because
we are located on the corner of a street, and in late August
we watch Silver Salmon or Coho's jumping in the cove. Magnificent
views and a large deck to enjoy them on are just a few of
the comforts the Inn offers.
Transportation and Fishing are done aboard the
C/V Amy Lorese. She is a 38 ft. aluminum vessel with a large
walk around cabin, 2 staterooms, and a bathroom. Look for
pictures of the Amy Lorese and the Coho Nook Inn on our "Lodging
and Transportation" page.
Your Hosts - Kevin & Katy Adkins
Kevin
& Katy have worked in the sport fishing business for a
combined total of 18 years. Before Kevin became a guide, he
spent many years as a commercial fisherman. His knowledge
of the water and the fish residing in it is extensive. Katy
has many years of experience cooking and seeing to the comforts
of her guests. She enjoys sharing recipes and serving requested
dishes to returning guests.
Our motto is "safety first", and combined
with an aggressive attitude towards catching fish we provide
anglers with a safe, professional and memorable trip. Sharing
our
beautiful island home with as many of you as we can, catching
as many fish as we can, and providing you with life long memories
is our goal. We hope you will check us out and if you like
what you see, give us a call. We'd love to hear from you!
