Getting Here

C/V Amy Lorese at the pick up dock in Anton Larson BayWe have had many requests to post information about getting to Kodiak and our pick up and departure times. They want to know about booking their flight times into and out of Kodiak. So here goes!

When booking your flights into Anchorage, you have the option to choose many carriers. Most major airlines fly into Anchorage. Many guests choose Alaska Airlines, because they continue on from Anchorage to Kodiak. They have two jet flights into Kodiak each day from Anchorage. One arrives in the early morning, about 7:00 am, and the other one arrives about 3:00 pm. Alaska Air is also a partner with ERA Aviation. ERA has about 4 to 5 daily flights from Anchorage into Kodiak. Look for a link to both of these air carriers on our Links Page. The flight time from Anchorage to Kodiak is about 50 minutes.

Arriving at the Dock in Anton Larson BayMost of our packages start with a Sunday arrival, and a Friday or Saturday departure. We always try to pick everyone in the weeks group up at the same time. Typically this is around 3 or 4 in the afternoon on Sunday, and a return to Kodiak from the lodge about 10 or 11 am on Saturday. This puts you back into Kodiak about noon.

Based on these pick up and departure times, guests then book their flights accordingly. Some folks prefer to arrive a day ahead of the start of the fishing trip and check out either Anchorage for a night or fly on down to Kodiak and spend a night there. Some guests prefer to fly the whole way on the day of the start of the trip, and then again some like to spend a night in Kodiak or Anchorage on the backside of their trip.

Regardless of how you choose to book your flight times, please know that we are somewhat flexible regarding pick up times. There are some times that absolutely Will Not work for us to transport you. These would be very early morning pick ups or departures. Our lodge is located about an hour to an hour & 1/2 travel time from the City of Kodiak Airport. It's about a 1/2 hour drive from the airport over a mountain pass to the dock that the boat is waiting at. Then another 45 minutes through some beautiful calm and wildlife filled waters to reach Port Lions boat harbor.

Many of our guests have commented that the trip to our lodge in Port Lions is the perfect start to an Alaskan Adventure because of the views and marine life that you see on the way to the lodge. Along the route you'll want your camera handy for great photos of whales, eagles, puffins and much more.

Upon your arrival at the lodge,"The Coho-Nook Inn", we'll help you settle in to one of our 4 spacious guests rooms. Your hostess, Katy, will have waiting for you a sampling of what you will come to expect upon your daily arrival while staying with us. Crab Quesadillas, Shrimp Salsa, or any number of other delectable treats will await you.

This page is intended to answer a couple of the most commonly asked questions from our guests.
